Welcome back!! This week I have picked out another five books that my family really enjoyed this past week and thought were worth recommending to your family! Hopefully you will find some new books to add to your list.
Me on the Map is a great introduction to geography and maps. A young girl in Kansas leads us from a map of her room to a map of her house all the way out to outer space and back home again. The kids had a great time finding our state and country on all the different maps. They also had a great time pointing out everything they could find on the picture of outer space.
The Honeybee Man allows us to follow Fred in his daily routine and get an inside look at the life of a beekeeper. We really enjoyed this story. It is beautifully told and gave the kids a chance to see just how honey is made.
Aqualicious is another great addition to the Pinkalicious family of books. Soph is a big fan of these books and this one didn’t disappoint. It’s a fun story that follows Pinkalicious and her brother Peter as they spend the day showing a miniature mermaid they found on the beach all the fun things there is to do on land. It is a really cute story perfect for summer.
Why Cowboys Sleep With Their Boots On is a great book if you are looking for a good laugh. Slim Jim Watkins is a good old-fashioned cowboy that works hard and sleeps hard. His clothes keep disappearing at night and we get to laugh along as we see what happens to his clothes each night.
The last book I want to share with you this week is Mr. Tiger Goes Wild . When we meet Mr. Tiger he is very prim and proper, follows all the rules. The only problem is that Mr. Tiger is bored and decides to do something about it. We follow him along on his journey. This story has a great message and the illustrations are beautiful. The kids were really into this book. It was well received by all!
